Plot
Pruning the Family Tree is a black comedy / drama about four women from one family who gather for a funeral and end up showing us that a family's values aren't always what they seem. Joe Casey has just died, and his family has gathered at the Casey house for the upcoming funeral. We first meet Joe's wife of forty years, Marilyn. The marriage between them was motivated by social expectation, not love. In keeping with the tradition in this type of marriage, Marilyn held the family together. Then there's Joe's youngest daughter, Barb. Barb has a slight physical handicap and at age 36 still lives at home. She has grown very dependent on Marilyn, out of habit not necessity. Next is Ellen, Joe's oldest daughter. Ellen left home when, at 18, she got pregnant and married. Since her divorce she has been independent, avoiding commitment and responsibility. Finally, there's Ellen's daughter Christy. Since her parents' divorce Christy has lived with her father, and for the last 10 years she has struggled to develop a relationship with Ellen, something Ellen has been avoiding. Christy's memories of the family are childhood memories of weekends at grandma's house, playing scrabble and drinking coke floats. Turns out, Joe's good reputation in the community never made it home, and the four women struggle to overcome Joe's previously unknown financial debts, as well as the damage he caused to each of them and their relationships with one another. Meanwhile, Ellen and Marilyn annoy Christy with their humorous approach to planning a funeral for the disdained deceased, and things get especially out of hand when the obtuse Barb implements her own funeral plans. Ultimately, the four of them are never more than one revelation away from digging their own graves, and the final revelation about Joe challenges their understanding of forgiveness and loyalty.
There's a fine line between burying the past and digging a grave...

Joe Casey is an American comic book writer. He has worked on titles such as Wildcats 3.0, Uncanny X-Men, The Intimates, Adventures of Superman, and G.I. Joe: America's Elite, among others.
During Casey's run at Marvel Comics people started to recognize his talent as a writer, especially in regard to his work on the book Cable. He took the story in a different direction than had been previously established. Cable went from a multi-gun toting tough guy to a more spiritualized leader for the Askani.
Casey wrote many titles for Wildstorm comics, often to high critical acclaim, like the highly experimental Automatic Kafka with artist Ashley Wood. Casey took over Wildcats and gave the series new direction turning from standard superheroics to corporate espionage. His Mister Majestic series with artist Ed McGuiness impressed DC Comics enough to offer them a run on Adventures of Superman.
Casey wrote 2005's Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes limited series and its sequel for Marvel Comics, the series G.I. Joe: America's Elite for Devil's Due Publishing and has been writing Gødland for Image Comics. He also wrote a revamp of the original Youngblood miniseries by Rob Liefeld, called Maximum Youngblood. Recently, as well, as discussing the ending of Gødland and the new Charlatan Ball and Nixon's Pals, he mentioned that Codeflesh would be returning.
Adrian Lewis Peterson (born March 21, 1985), nicknamed "A. D." (for "All Day"), "A. P." and "Purple Jesus", is an American football running back for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). Peterson was selected by the Vikings with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Oklahoma.
While at Oklahoma, Peterson set the NCAA freshman rushing record with 1,925 yards as a true freshman during the 2004 season. As a First-team All-American, he became the first freshman to finish as the runner-up in the Heisman Trophy balloting behind USC quarterback Matt Leinart. Peterson finished his college football career as the Sooners' third all-time leading rusher.
Following his stellar first pro season in which he set an NFL record for most rushing yards in a single game (296), Peterson was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He was then awarded the MVP award for his performance in the Pro Bowl and became only the fifth player in NFL history to have more than 3,000 yards through his first two seasons. In 2010, he became the fifth fastest player to run for 5,000 yards, doing so in his 51st game. Currently, Peterson has the fourth highest average rushing yards per game total in NFL history (min. 50 games) with an average of 92.5, trailing Jim Brown (104.3), Barry Sanders (99.8) and Terrell Davis (97.5).
Randy Gene Moss (born February 13, 1977) is an American professional American football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League. He played college football at Marshall University, and twice earned All-American honors. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft.
Moss played the first seven years of his career in Minnesota before a trade in 2005 brought him to the Oakland Raiders. On April 29, 2007, Moss was traded to the New England Patriots for a fourth-round draft pick. On October 6, 2010, Moss returned to the Vikings in a trade from the Patriots. However, his stint in Minnesota was short-lived, as he was waived by the team less than a month later, and claimed by the Tennessee Titans. After a season long retirement, Moss signed a one year contract with the 49ers for the 2012-2013 season.
Moss holds the NFL single season touchdown reception record (23, set in 2007), and the NFL single-season touchdown reception record for a rookie (17, in 1998).

Hab dich im Traum gesehn,
es war so wunderschön
in einem weißen Hochzeitskleid.
Mein Herz schlägt nur für dich,
glaub mir ich brauche dich
und hoffe es ist bald soweit.
Komm mit ins Wunderland,
es liegt in deiner Hand.
Sei einfach froh
und wünsch dir was.
wir schaun zum Himmelsstern,
die Mädchen träumen gern
und mit dir machts den größten Spaß.
Bridge:
Glück muss man erst finden,
Tränen überwinden,
dann leuchtet erst der goldene Ring.
Manchmal muss man warten
bis im Rosengarten
alle Blumen blühn.
Mein Traum fliegt zu dir hin,
sowie ein Schmetterling
und bring dir dieses Lied.
Es singt von Wedding Peach,
hör auf die Melodie,
sie sagt dir: "Ich vergess dich nie!"
Es singt von Wedding Peach,
hör auf die Melodie,
sie sagt dir: "Ich vergess dich nie!"

But I shall not give up so easy
Cause there's a reward for me, oooh yeah

Sometimes I feel like a motherless child
You know no one cares for me

Sometimes I look to the world with a smile
Man you hear what I say...

Seeing that I'm so poor
But I shall not give up so easy
Oh no no no no non no
Cause there's a reward for me...

Nothing there will ever be (wore out)
